Description: This is a beautiful Chinese 20 cent silver coin from Kwangtung province, now known as Guangdong province. The mint was located in Guangzhou (Canton). This coin is from the Republic period, after the Empire and before the People's Republic. It was minted in 1920, with 197 million coins minted, which is about the same mintage as 1919 and 1/2 the mintage of 1921. The reverse has the numeral 20, KWANG-TUNG PROVINCE, and TWENTY CENTS. The obverse is all Chinese characters, with the Year 9 character in the legend. Both sides are blast white in color, like it was struck over 100 years ago! This coin weighs 5.40 grams and is made of silver. This is an original coin, which I acquired many years ago. Please view the photos to see for yourself.
