Description: WW1 British Brodie Mark 1 HelmetI bought this back in 2021 and was intrigued by it. Now it's time to sell Search YouTube for A Mysterious WW1 Brodie helmet....for video of actual helmethttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjsZGM0JyZs It's WW1 with Manganese steel shell (non-magnetic) & steel rim, British split pins for strap holder, leather up and over strap, doughnut with rivet holding it - all normal so far; HOWEVER it have a leather 3 tongued liner, held in with split pins (which looks right) and 3 pockets for cotton padding. One of the pockets had a newspaper where the padding had gone missing, which I gently removed to show 1940 newspaper. Shell, strap & liner are all in great condition, shell showing brush strokes, indicating British manufacture and has stamp so we know it’s made between 1916 and 1919 by Hadfield Ltd in Sheffield, So, do you think this is a prototype, a cross-bred British, with a WW1 German M16 liner, or something else?
