Description: World's Finest Comics #153 from 1965. This book is very popular specifically because there is one panel whose image is ubiquitous throughout the internet and has been for many years...that of Batman uncharacteristically slapping Robin across the face, which would be shocking for most Batman fans. In these times of political correctness, that image would probably not be allowed. At first glance, the cover of this book is in the FN/VF arena. It is in like new, crisp condition, with excellent cover gloss and a near perfect spine. When you look at the back cover, however, the book made contact with moisture that affects about a 3 1/2" ribbon that effects the back cover and all other pages going forward getting progressively less noticeable. Book is still complete because the moisture contact blemishes only the margins and the staining doesn't go into any of the panels. It certainly doesn't come anywhere near the panel in which the book is famous for. I took a few pictures for you to assess the damage. The book has come loose from the bottom staple with some staple discoloration, but all pages are present and firmly attached otherwise. Inside covers are clean, except for the moisture contact and aside from that, all pages are offwhite and supple as well. There's some brittleness within the 3 1/2" where the moisture contact was made. In FR condition. Bidders may want to wait for a second invoice on purchases over $50 or any auction for that matter.
