Description: Rare Fairbairn Sykes fighting dagger commemorative issue manufactured in 1986 by the famous y Wilkinson Sword Company for The American Historical Foundation; only 2500 were made. The stunning polished and deeply blued blade is finely scroll-etched and plated with 24K gold; AHF issued just 2500 serial-numbered Invasion of Italy FS daggers; this specimen is SN 2108. It comes with the matching COA, various AHF papers, presentation case, original shipping box. The dagger is about 11-7/8” / 30 cm overall; mirror-polished blade is about 6-7/8" / 17.5 cm; it has not been re-sharpened, original edge is razor-sharp; the tip is intact. Solid metal "model 2" pattern handle and guard are blued; all parts are tight; deeply-etched 24K gold filled engraving is intact. The 1986 limited run for The American Historical Foundation (AHF) was limited to just 2500 daggers of each type (there were 6 commemorative FS daggers in total). These were some of the last high-quality FS daggers Wilkinson produced before Wilkinson Sword wrapped-up and was sold to Fiskars. The stunning polished and deeply blued blade is finely scroll-etched and plated with 24K gold. AHF issued just 2500 serial-numbered Invasion of Italy FS daggers; this specimen's serial number is 2108 - tiny numbers are hand-engraved on ricasso. The dagger comes with the original blue velvet-lined display case, matching COA, a copy of Commander Clark June 1944 the address, care instructions, and the original-owner The American Historical Foundation shipping box. This commemorative dagger issue was sold without a scabbard. The dagger is about 11-7/8” / 30 cm overall; the blade is about 6-7/8" / 17.5 cm; it has not been re-sharpened, original edge; the tip is intact.
