Weaver Qwik Point Model S-1 Optical Red Dot Shotgun Sight

Description: This is a nice example of an interesting shotgun sight. The Weaver Quik Point is a very early red dot sight which uses fiber optics and ambient light, not a laser. A system of mirrors reflects the red dot into your sighting plane. It is not an occluded eye sight, as you look directly through it with both eyes open. Interestingly, this system works perfectly for people like myself with astigmatism. Unlike a laser, this doesn't create the comet with a tail effect of modern red dots. It isn't as bright, but it's extremely effective. Purchased in 1979 for my grandfather, who hunted it hard for three seasons and swore by it for doves and ducks. In very good condition, with 99% of bluing remaining, excellent mirror quality, no cracks or other damage to the clear fiber optic cap. Includes original dust caps. With original box, though the box does have some wear on it. Also includes the proper drill bit and taps for installing the mounting rail on your shotgun.
