Description: Original Russian Gzhel mug. It was hand made and hand painted. It is signed by the artists Khazova and Rigina. This mug was created exclusively for The First Pioneer Voucher Fund and has great historical value as an evidence of the trickery privatization in Russia in 1990’s. The Fund was promising great dividends for the shareholders in exchange for their vouchers. The vouchers were issued by the Russian government and distributed among the citizens, 1 per capita. An initial official value of each voucher was 20,000 rubles (approx. $22,000). The Fund collected millions of vouchers from the citizens. Only a handful of the Fund owners became rich, millions of other “shareholders” have never seen either their money or dividends. The mug is approx. 5“ tall and 3 1/2” in diameter at the widest point, weighs approx. 1 lb. Very good condition.
