Vintage RARE 1960s Shure 333 Ribbon studio microphone w accessories 330 315 SM33

You are looking at a rare and very desirable Shure Brothers 333 model Ribbon microphone that was manufactured in Evanston, ILL sometime between 1956 & the mid 1960's though the exact date is unknown for this mic? The 333 model was first introduced in the early 1950's in Chicago. It has the original chocolate brown paint scheme. The 333 model was first introduced in 1951 I believe and had almost a 20 year run before it was eventually rebadged as the "SM33". The 300 only changed design slightly with the paint scheme but otherwise the entire physical appearance never changed. It comes with an original red mic pouch and a vintage metal case in which to store. Pic # 2 is of an old Shure mic catalog I have showing the 333 and it's basic characteristics. This was a more expensive studio mic being uni-directional in nature picking up only noise from directly in front of the mic blocking out unwanted background noise. The later SM33 model was made famous by Johnny Carson (pic # 3) as Shure gifted him one to use on his late night show which he used from 1971 to 1981 before it was retired. Interesting side note...that very mic sold for 50K in 2005 at auction. Anyways, the 333 model and SM33 are identical in every way. Again, the 333 is the earlier model. This beautiful looking microphone comes with the original ribbon cartridge. It has been tested and has zero issues. A strong output with a warm, smooth tone as you would expect from any quality ribbon mic set at low Z though this mic is multi impedance having the high, medium and Low setting on the rear of the head beneath the removeable impedance switch cover as seen in pic # 17. You can use this mic on any audio equipment you have and it's especially good for broadcasting and singing. This is only the second example I have ever come across in the 12 years I've been selling vintage mics. I would highly suggest buying a quality mic case for this mic to store and transport in due to it's rarity and very nice physical condition. It should be noted right away that the mic has been both cleaned and tested. The mic has a like new signal being 100% and sounds just as good as it looks. A smooth warm tone that you would expect from a quality ribbon microphone and this 300 has the multi impedance switch for Low, Med, and High impedance depending on the audio equipment you are using. The mic also has a unique front setting for voice or music depending on the situation. The 333 badge looks very nice and completely legible. You'll notice there is a VOICE and MUSIC switch as well that you can use depending on whether you are broadcasting close to the mic or simply recording music from a greater distance. It works just fine though you won't hardly notice the difference up close. This 333 mic was very similar to the chrome 330 model that Shure was selling at that time but it was a bit more sophisticated and much more expensive which is why you see far fewer of these than the 333 model mics around. The 333 had the practical built in shock mount which reduced unwanted feedback when the mic was live. It gives the 333 a classy and aggressive combination. A very beautiful design overall and one of Shure's best ribbon models. This Shure 300 has the painted original finish with an all metal construction making the mic quite rugged in nature. This mic is 100% complete inside and shows very lite wear as seen in the pictures provided. There are no engravings, pitting or deep scratches. Just a few subtle paint chips on the front grill and small scratches that are hard to see even up close. Both the front and rear grills are free of dents or odors. The joint mechanism holds strong like it should and can be tightened as needed with a screw driver. The Shure logo looks great too. The threading for the stand is perfect and this can be used with any desk or floor stand you have. The mic takes the common XLR cable which was very modern for that time. I cleaned the XLR pins on this mic as they were quite tarnished. This will ensure a perfect signal once the cable is attached. If you need a very nice example of a rarer quality ribbon mic then you should seriously consider this example. They continue to rise in value and this mic should last for several decades to come so long as its taken care of. The build on these are superb. Back when American companies actually made a product that was intended to outlive it's client. An original beautiful red Shure mic pouch is included to store the mic in and to keep the mic from being scratched. It's in perfect condition and will come in handy. The mic comes with the vintage metal case in which to store your items. The case has a practical carrying handle and locking mechanism. It has the original mustard gold paint scheme. I added two new foam inner pads to keep the mic safe and snug. It's a very rugged design and compliments the mic nicely. Plenty of room inside for everything. The case shows just very lite wear on the paint but it has zero dents or corrosion and it's a great accessory to have to keep these items safe from damage.
