Description: Offered for your consideration is a vintage Emphasis Pointer, manufactured in Japan c. 1975. This example bears the logo of UOP, the former Universal Oil Products, recognizable to many for their sponsorship of the successful Shadow cars in Formula 1 racing 50 years ago. I believe these pointers were initially produced stateside by the PARKER Special Products Division of Janesville, WI before it was renamed Ozburn-Janesville, with many of the wares imported from Japan. I’ve even seen these pointers alongside pens in PARKER and EVERSHARP boxed sets before PARKER liquidated EVERSHARP in the late 1960's. It measures 5” collapsed, 25¼” fully extended, and is made from matte-finished alloy with chrome-plated clip, tip, and telescoping sections. There are no scratches, dings, or oxidation noted.
