There also is a lever on the side of the box. Once the lever is pushed down, the music and seagull stop, push lever back up, and the music and seagull continue playing. You may ask, why is there a lever....well this item can be free-standing or you can hang on a wall. If you choose to hang on a wall, this is when you would utilize the lever.
