Description: This is a cute little Ernest Borel pendant cocktail watch with an AS 1156 seventeen jewel movement. It keeps good time. It has a nice clear acrylic crystal with stylishly simple black hands. Founded in 1856 in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, the heart of Swiss watchmaking industry, Emest Borel has been crafting Swiss-made watches of exceptional craftsmanship and timeless elegance since then. The AS 1156 movement was launched in 1935. There are no case markings to indicate the watch's age. However, from the style of this watch, I would estimate it is from the late 1950s, early 1960s but I am unsure. Ernest Borel watches, in my opinion, always have a unique style and elegance compared to other watches that make them stand out from the crowd. This watch is a bit of fun, and would look great on a vintage gold chain. I think the watch case is brass with gold plating, but I am not sure. In places, the plating has worn away. Hence the watch has a true vintage feel. The watch is not water proof.
