Both ends appear to me to be brass or brass plated metal and the black portion also appears to be painted or powder coated metal of some sort. The large “brass” end is loosely filled with colored bits of what appear to me to be glass or plastic. When the kaleidoscope is held up to a bright light and you look through the viewing end and rotate the large end, a very colorful, constantly changing, and endless number of patterns appear. Very charming and beautiful. This piece has been in my personal collection since 1989. The piece in my photos is the actual piece you will receive. Also included in this sale are the original box, cloth bag and poly bag that were all part of my original purchase of this piece. Please be sure to read the “Age and Condition” and “Approximate Dimensions” paragraphs below.I purchased this new in 1989 from Allen’s Coin Shop in Westerville, Ohio. The shop’s original sticker is still on the top of the original box along with a small label with “#7752” on one end of the box. I can find no identifying marks on the kaleidoscope or the bag.I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability. I used this very infrequently and it has pretty much remined in the original box ever since I bought it. There are only some extremely light signs of use. Only the original box shows any signs of use and has splits on three corners and has been taped back together. Please keep in mind that the photos you are viewing can be blown up 5X or 10X larger than normal, so anything you see in these photos will be 5X or 10X larger than it really is.
