Description: This listing is for the original painting of a mountain landscape that you see it in the photos. I purchased it at an estate sale in Oregon where I was not told its history. There is a paper on the reverse with writing that google identifies as Chinese.. The translation of the writing by google indicates that the painting is from Korea so I am guessing that is where it is from. I do not know when it was painted. The translation mentions a 1985 museum exhibition so I am assuming that it was painted sometime after that date. The translation tells me that the name of the artist is probably Bisham Kang Hyun-sik. I leave it to the buyer to decide who painted it and when it was painted. The frame measures inches 23 3/4 inches wide by 21 inches tall by inches 1 7/8 inches thick. The framed painting weighs close to.6 pounds 14 inches. The painting is behind glass that its near the top edge of the frame so that it is a kind of shadowbox. Because it is behind glass, there are some reflections in the photos. I am not sure if the painting is made with ink or watercolor or a combination of both. The google translation of the writing on the paper on the reverse is as follows: I leave it to the buyer to decide how accurate it is. P. T10, Samick Home: 542-2731 Studio: 549-2552 The condition is much like you see it in the photos. The paint on the frame shows some damage that you can get a good general idea of from the photos. There are also a few small dings in the wood along the edges. I see five very tiny specks of a dark or darker something or another on the mat. They are difficult to see. One can be seen in the close-up of the signature. The paper backing on the reverse is damaged. The painting looks fine. Otherwise, painting and frame are fine and as shown. I guarantee this painting to be as described and represented by the photos after the general description. The photos are part of the description. Please look at all of them. Please know that the lighting in my photos is uneven and that there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors. Different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs “close to” because in my opinion no measurements are exact and some things are difficult to measure. I like to leave feedback after I know that the item has arrived and that the buyer is satisfied. I reserve the right to cancel any bids without explanation. I frequently purchase signature delivery for my more valuable packages because of the possibility of them being stolen off of a porch or damaged by weather. I often but not always ship the same or the next day. Often, I have a custom made box for larger items and that might result in a short delay. When I use packing peanuts, they are usually biodegradable. Sometimes, I use used boxes. Please email me with any questions or suggestions. I do not ship on weekends. I might not be available to answer email on weekends.
