Description: Vintage rare 1950s Lilli Ann skirt suit. The shapely fitted jacket features unique pleated lapels and shapely seamwork giving that iconic Lilli Ann flared peplum, padded shoulders, and full lining. The most outstanding and unusual feature is the beautifully tailored accordion style pleats at sleeve cuffs and below front of the waist. Fabric covered button closure down the front (missing last one). The pencil skirt has a knife kick pleat, partial lining, and side metal zipper with button for closure. Upon researching the fabric is a Fabric of France exclusive “bamboo” which is a silk, mohair and worsted blend. A gorgeous brown with a woven ivory contrast stitch. Sadly, this suit has some flaws. There are stress tears in the fabric on the arms and at the back of the skirt. There are also several holes in the jacket. And the bottom button is missing.
