Vintage 1950's Ernest Borel All SS Midsize Watch w/Almond Toned Swiss Only Dial

Description: ***********This is a midsize watch, measuring approximately 33 mm excluding the crown, approximately 36 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs.*********** This seldom seen vintage 1950's Ernest Borel, which came from the estate of its original owner, is an example of a watch that in my humble opinion presents markedly better in person. It has a naturally aged almond toned "SWISS" only signed dial that under the damaged crystal is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows subtle age-related wear. The all stainless steel midsize case shows honest wear and oxidation. The outside of the case back is stamped "STEEL" followed by "697199,""367207" and "E." The crystal needs to be replaced. While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale the case back on this watch is torqued too tight for me to remove. The manual wind movement runs strong and keeps accurate time. After recently winding the sharply threaded non-screwdown crown 29 full revolutions the movement had an approximate 45 hour power reserve period. The crown winds smoothly. Given that this watch is more than 60 years old and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 33 mm excluding the crown, approximately 36 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the fixed, smooth bezel, is approximately 4.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 6.5 mm. Given the vintage nature of this watch and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is recommended.
