Vintage 1888~Handbell Ringing~CW Fletcher~Royal Criterion~Mummery~Music~Chime

Description: For sale is a vintage, antique book,Handbell Ringing, by C.W. Fletcher (no date, but internet finds 1888 for date). The book is hardcover, with blue boards and is 5” x 7.25” with 137 pages, not including the 3 pages of adverts for other books by the publisher, which is J Curwen & Sons, 8 & 9 Warwick Lane, E.C.. (I assume this is in London.) The book is in very good condition, especially for its age, with lightly tanned pages and bumped corners. There are no marks or writing in the book, except a lightly penciled used bookstore price on the page opposite the title page. The endpapers are age-stained, but include a sticker from Kenneth Mummery, the famed dealer of musical books in Bournemouth, UK. At some point the book must have passed through that store. There is no whiff of basement storage. This book has been kept under good conditions for nearly 140 years. We have recently had a large donation of vintage books & pamphlets relating to bells, bell-ringing, and vintage percussion instruments. About 25 listings will be appearing on eBay soon.
