Description: An ultra rare Astatic D-104 Diamond Eagle 1933-1993 60th Anniversary Edition “lollipop” microphone for HAM and CB radio use. This is a recent find from a massive HAM/CB radio operators lifetime estate collection of over 40 CB and HAM radio base stations, along with dozens of boxes of radio related accessories and equipment. I was told that this was bought brand new by this individual and when found it was under a dust cover, unfortunately the original box was nowhere to be found. This is one of two Diamond Eagles that I will have listed. This microphone was connected to a GE SSB Superbase base station radio which I will also be listing soon. The cosmetic condition of this piece is very good but with a scratch on one area of the base, this mark goes through the golden finish to the base metal and likely cannot be removed. This imperfection is detailed in the photos and is the reason for the reduced price compared to the other example I have for sale. The microphone was connected to the CB radio that powers on and receives, and it appeared to transmit. When the transmit handle was pressed down the meter appeared to show transmission. My radio check was not responded to but the microphone appears to work. Due to the age of this item and the lack of confirmed performance, even though it likely works this microphone is being sold as a collector’s item only, please know this when buying it. I will not accept returns if the microphone is not functioning properly, but I will if it is completely dead. This item has been stored in a dehumidified cool environment its whole life according to the previous owner. This has not been available on the market since it was purchased new in 1993. The diamond in the microphone is apparently a real diamond according to the literature available on this product. This item will be sent in a well padded box and insured to protect against any potential damage during shipping.
