Graded 66 Premium Paper Quality Gem New by LCG. This scarce 1000 Francs is tied with two more at this grade level and none graded finer registered in the PMG Population Report. The dissolution of Rwanda and Burundi occurred in 1964, which was also the same year that Rwanda ordered their own notes. There was however a shortage, or lag that forced the Bank to repurpose already delivered "Rwanda Et Du Burundi" notes. The Bank hand embossed the 500 and 1000 Francs with "Banque Nationale Du Rwanda", and can be seen over the portrait of a zebra.
