Toshiba Portege R100 compact vintage laptop PA327U-1MPC 1GHz / 512MB / 30GB

Description: Toshiba compact laptop, in good working condition, with caveats related to the age of the hardware. Apparently this thing was released in 2003. It looks. . . surprisingly good. Surprisngly modern, not in the way that actual modern hardware looks, but a sort of alternate abstract modernity. Clean and sharp. The way, when it's opened, it's black with silver outlining really elevates its appearance, I think. It's surprisingly flat, also -- again, not like modern hardware, but there's something about the aesthetic that makes it look flatter than it is. Laptop is configured with: * Pentium M 1 GHz CPU * 512 MB DDR1 SDRAM * 30 GB IDE hard drive (I think it's 1.8", but I'm not sure) * 12.1" 1024x768 LCD + VGA output * Built-in Ethernet * Wi-Fi * USB * PC Card slot * Modem * SD card reader Tested and working. I've installed Windows XP on the machine, but I haven't installed drivers and performed other setup tasks. (Windows XP COA sticker included on the bottom.) I'll include a burned DVD of the Toshiba OEM install disc, as downloaded from the Internet Archive. Main battery is able to charge and power the laptop long enough to boot. I didn't test it for capacity -- when I plugged it back in after a few minutes, it was at 97%. As with any battery of this vintage, I would not rely on it. I also think the CMOS battery needs replacement. Does not include AC adapter, sorry.
