This KIRIDASHI knife is hand made in traditional Katana forging procedure by an officially certified traditional blacksmith (Mr. Oda) in ODA forging factory, which is a specialized factory for machet in Tosa. KIRIDASHI is one of the traditional Japanese knife shape, which has been used mostly for wood carving or grafting for a long time. Mr. Oda shaped this knife for cutting fish during his spare time outdoor activity. Unlike ordinary single edged KIRIDASHI, this knife has thick double edged blade to improve sturdiness for variety of activity and for both right-handed and left-handed. The Blue Paper steel is made from composite of White Paper steel (the purest carbon steel) with chrome and tungsten to improve longer sharpness.And all of his knives are made with the traditional Japanese Katana forging procedure (Warikomi or Sanmai), which is to sandwitch harder steel with softer steel to realize both hardness and viscosity.
