Structured Literacy Interventions for MRD–Advanced Stages Index Review "An outstanding, well-written, much-needed guide to implementation of SL practices in grades K-9. This book offers exceptional guidance about how to teach all related components of instruction; it tightly links lesson frameworks, specific goals and activities, and feedback procedures to individual student profiles. The authors unequaled knowledge of research-based practices, the content of instruction, and the realities of student variation makes this book a must for anyone who teaches reading, spelling, writing, and language comprehension."--Louisa C. Moats, EdD, codeveloper, LETRS professional development program; former officer, International Dyslexia Association "The Structured Literacy Planner brings to life the practices associated with SL. Spear-Swerling expertly integrates reading research with the craft knowledge necessary to provide well-informed, systematic guidance for teachers. Numerous case studies are included to illustrate real-world applications. The applied exercises at the end of each chapter provide the type of practice needed to develop skilled SL practitioners. As a text, the book can be used by teacher educators or professional development providers interested in providing practical, case-based training in SL."--Kristin L. Sayeski, PhD, Department of Communication Sciences and Special Education, University of Georgia "The book is organized around three common reading profiles and is further differentiated based on students stage of reading acquisition, early versus advanced. This detailed information is grounded in assessment data and is brought to life through case studies and sample intervention plans for each profile and stage. The sample intervention plans include components for a lesson and accompanying activities for each component. If that werent enough, the Planner also includes suggestions for writing instruction! I will recommend this book to teachers who engage in our coursework, workshops, and classroom-based coaching."--Margie B. Gillis, EdD, CALT, Founder and President, Literacy How "Useful for all educators, this text is essential for teachers of reading. A map for assessment and progress monitoring, lesson plan examples, templates for student activities, and other materials provide the resources needed to apply SL practices."--Martha Hougen, PhD, educational consultant and author; board member, Center for Effective Reading Instruction- Details ISBN1462554326 Author Louise Spear-Swerling Publisher Guilford Publications Year 2024 ISBN-13 9781462554324 Format Hardcover Subtitle Designing Interventions for Common Reading Difficulties, Grades 1-9 Country of Publication United States DEWEY 372.4 Imprint Guilford Press Place of Publication New York Alternative 9781462554317 Series The Guilford Series on Intensive Instruction Pages 252 Audience Professional & Vocational Publication Date 2024-05-10 US Release Date 2024-05-10 ISBN-10 1462554326 UK Release Date 2024-05-10 AU Release Date 2024-03-31 We've got this At The Nile, if you're looking for it, we've got it.
