Description: Stuart Turner #4 Vertical Live Steam Engine - Vintage early model. WORKS GREAT - see test video of the unit running. This appears to be an older Stuart Turneer Model #4 steam engine model. I've had a little difficulty identifying is perfectly due to its age. A number "4" is cast on the cylinder casing and what appears to be a number "63" cast on the other side. There is some thick red paint inside the square on the cylinder casing where the "S" would appear and may have been painted over. Note the 4 hole mounting on the base and antique screws. A lot of the vertical steam engines of this size have a 2 or 3 hole mounting base. The steam input and exhaust is on the same side of the housing. This model is made of cast iron, brass and steel. The unit has a 4-1/2 inch flywheel. It is 10-1/2 inches tall from the wood base. It is 6-1/4 inches deep measured from the length of the wheel axle/rod. It weighs 10 pounds, 11 ounces. You can do hand curls with it -LOL This model is in good working order. I used compressed air to test the unit, video attached. It appears repainted and has some patina. There is some oil remnants. We did not clean or polish the unit. It came from a private collection and was well cared for. See detailed pictures for best depiction of condition. We take great care in packaging your order carefully to ensure it arrives to you safely. However, your order will be fully insured in the event it is lost or damaged in transit. Please note that shipping cost also includes insurance.
