Description: Original owner’s “The New Yorker View of the World From 9th Avenue” poster by artist Saul Steinberg. Purchased new in 1978, the poster was then professionally custom “wet-mounted” on a rigid, ¼” thick, high quality cardboard backing piece measuring 42” x 29”. (See photographs.) Until April 2024, this large poster always was framed and hung, with a clear glass front in various home and business offices and finished basements. It has an attractive, rich matte finish and is ready for immediate framing. CONDITION: VERY GOOD+. · This is the original poster created in response to customer demand following the publication of the March 29, 1976, issue of The New Yorker Magazine. Made in the United States, the poster is an original, licensed reproduction from The New Yorker Magazine. · The poster’s colors have remained rich and vibrant since purchase, given that the poster always was glass-framed protected until recently. The matte finish accentuates the poster’s rich, unfaded colors. · All four (4) edges are intact and sharp, with no bends, blunts or damage. · The large poster’s shape has remained rigid with no warping or waves in the ¼” thick cardboard backing piece. (See photographs.) · There is a slight discoloration line of 7” +/- in the extreme lower left corner of the poster, at an approximate 45-degree angle. This is attributable to a water stain that affected this area in the back cardboard backing piece. (See photographs.)
