Description: Original trading card from Czech sport magazine STADION. Published in years 2000 - 2005, 8 sets. Was published total 735 cards per 1000 pieces each. Plus 20 bonus gold cards. Trading card # 634 - Gerd Müller (Germany), played in Bayern München and Fort Lauderdale Strikers. Holder award Golden Ball 1970. Conceived by sports writer Gabriel Hanot, the Ballon d'Or award honours the male player deemed to have performed the best over the previous year, based on voting by football journalists, from 1956 to 2006. After 2007, coaches and captains of national teams were also given the right to vote. Originally, it was an award only for players from Europe and widely known as the European Footballer of the Year award. In 1995, the Ballon d'Or was expanded to include all players from any origin that have been active at European clubs. The award became a global prize in 2007 with all professional footballers from around the world being eligible. The Stadion series containing this card was sold only as a complete series, shrink-wrapped in cello, and poorly packed, meaning cards stuck out randomly, causing edge and corner wear on almost all cards in the series. This is why it's extremely unlikely a finer example will ever appear. Old sets opened now will have to be damaged to pull the cards apart.
