Description: My late husband, a New Yorker-published poet himself, attended (formerly named) Squaw Valley Writers Conference twice, when Robert Hass was teaching there. This book was personally and generously inscribed to him two years after the publication of this volume at another of Hass's appearances. I am now drastically -- and with mixed feelings -- thinning out our huge library of books. The minor vestige of some moisture does not, to me, diminish the true value of this collectible. Judging by the spots that were on the protective cover over the dust jacket, which I easily wiped off, I imagine my spouse somehow splashed his ever-present large cup of cola on the book. I think the last few photos will show that only a little reached the first few pages and the edges of a few more. I'm also posting Robert Hass's HUMAN WISHES later today. Check it out; it's also personally inscribed. I'll happily combine shipping. (No Coke on that one!)
