Description: PLEASE READ THIS DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY!!!...Very nice COMPLETE SET of eight (8) original limited "registered" edition signed offset lithograph art prints titled "Vanishing Species of Birds". They all measure 21.25" x 25.25" .The artist was Richard Evans Younger and he signed his name on all the prints in pencil on the lower right corner. All are marked print #235 out of 300 so this was a complete set purchased together with all having the same limited edition number identification. These are all "series 1" prints and are as follows: Plate 1...American Eagle...Plate 2...Everglade Kite...Plate 3...Laysan Duck...Plate 4... Hawaiian or Nese Goose...Plate 5...Aleutian Canada Goose...Plate 6...Tule-White-Fronted Goose...Plate 7...Whooping Crane...Plate 8...Florida Sandhill Crane. The first 2 plates were printed in the Netherlands by L.Van Leer & Co (NV Amsterdam). The last six were printed in the England by W.R. Royle & Son Ltd London N1. Prints 1-4 are in overall excellent condition with a few flaws....Print one has a small "ding" under the handwritten signature and some light bottom edge wear/marks....Prints 1-4 ALL have some light/soft vertical "fold/impression" lines (a few light creases in the paper can be seen on the border area on print 1 as well)...These minor "soft" fold lines on the first 4 prints were caused by the way the set was stored. These flaws should not be noticeable when flattened & framed. See the attached pics for a better idea on the condition of these 4 prints. Prints 5-8 are near mint! The artwork on these prints are dated 1966-1968. I believe this set was purchased in 1973. Also included in this lot is a 2 page booklet about the artist, a large portfolio cover sheet and a large synopsis sheet about the 8 birds featured in the set. There is a right side border crease on this synopsis sheet. I have attached many pics of this wonderful set. Please review these pics for a better idea of their condition.
