It is half the thickness of superfine dubbing and is ideal for tiny dry flies as well as nymphs. It provides the perfect profile on small flies, unlike traditional dubbings that add too much bulk on smaller hooks. Kapok (Ceiba pentandra) is a natural fiber that has been grown throughout the tropics. It is a moisture-resistant, quick drying, resilient, and buoyant fiber that weighs only 1/8 as much as cotton. Traditionally Kapok is very difficult to dye, however the team at Semperfli has been working with computer-based dying machinery which has enabled it to bulk dye with repeatable colors every time.
