Purcell's name is stamped on the back of the poster. This striking, original mini poster, which measures 9.25 by 13.75 inches, was screen-printed in 2015, some months after the 2014 Gaza War, also known as Operation Protective Edge, during which thousands of people from Gaza and Israel were killed and wounded. The vast majority of the casualties were from Gaza, and many were children. On May 6, 2021, another deadly conflict erupted in Gaza after Palestinians protested a forthcoming decision of the Israeli Supreme Court concerning the eviction of four Palestinian families from a neighborhood in East Jerusalem. The 10-day conflict resulted in the deaths of 12 Israelis and at least 230 Palestinians, including more than 60 children in Gaza. In October 2023, a major war between Israelis and Palestinians -- launched in Gaza by HAMAS -- brought even more death and destruction.
