Description: This is a real photo postcard (RPPC), unposted and featuring a view of a four poster bed. Back of postcard identifies this as the bedchamber in the Isaac Royall House in Medford, Massachusetts. Photo postcard distributed by Tinkham Jeweler in Medford. The Isaac Royall house was built in 1732 by Royall. It was abandoned by the Royall family prior to the Revolutionary War since they were Loyalists. During the Revolutionary War, the house was used by General John Stark during the evacuation of Boston. Today, it is a house museum called the Royall House and Slave Quarters at 15 George Street in Medford. It is known for having a well preserved slave quarters, the only surviving quarters in Massachusetts. Postcard circa 1907-1914. Note the American flag on the table to the right.
