Description: RARE Trader Vics Beverly Hilton Tiki Handblown Glass Fish Float Original Decor Extremely rare handblown glass fish float that adorned Trader Vic’s the Beverly Hilton in LA. This is one of the rare pieces of decor that survived the many renovations and stuck around through the decades in this legendary tiki bar. One of the most legendary tiki bars on earth, this venue played host to the stars, tiki enthusiasts & tourists for decades. There were many souvenirs sold at Trader Vic’s over the years, but this IS Trader Vic’s!! This is an original piece of decor from this legendary restaurant. The fish floats are one of the most iconic pieces of tiki decor from this establishment and this fish float once hung from the ceiling in the early days, then once the netting wore off it was repurposed and spent many years as decor sitting inside the kava bowl in the restaurant. The steel cables still attached from where it once attached to the ceiling. (See pics) Many people replace the netting on fish floats by using the net from a basketball hoop, but I will leave that up to the next owner. I am selling it in the exact condition Trader Vic’s kept it in. Would look great displayed in your tiki bar. Talk about a conversation piece. Imagine showing this off while you fix up some Mai Tais or Fog Cutters? This is an actual piece of tiki culture history. Beautiful dark purple and almost brown glass in some lighting.
