Description: THIS SUPER RARE RUSSELL ATHLETIC PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES BLACK AND GREY JERSEY IN A SIZE 3XL. THIS STYLE AND COLOR WAS USED BY THE PHILLIES (AND SEVEN OTHER TEAMS) FOR ONE GAME WITH JERSEYS SOLD AT THE FIELD VENDERS THAT DAY ON GAME DAY. THE JERSEY WAS IMMEDIATELY BANNED BY THE MLB. ALL JERSEYS WERE REMOVED FROM SALES DISTRIBUTION, NEVER WORN BY THE TEAM AGAIN, DO TO MLB REGULATIONS WITH ALL REMAINING JERSEYS DESTROYED. I can not find the year nor date that this occurred. You will rarely if ever see another Phillies “MLB Genuine Merchandise” Jersey in full Blank and Grey ONLY. MLB regulations now requires all jerseys to have portions of white and a portion of the Baseball Teams primary color to be on all black Jerseys moving forward. Phillies is red. IN 2009 one of these Black and Grey Jerseys (vender bought) sold at the Phillies Celebrity Auction for the Children’s Hospital at the Lowe’s Hotel for $475.
