Description: This highly sought after vintage Dansk pepper mill is one of the earliest designs in the "RARE WOODS " special edition series. It was designed by Jens Harald Quistgaard for Dansk Designs, LTD in the 1960's. Only 7 pepper mills of the rarest shapes from this group were made with silver plated parts. This “screwdriver” design is the hardest one to find. The pepper mill was handcrafted of beautifully grained staved Rosewood. The entire bottom half of this peppermill is silver plated, unlike the other six in this series that have a silver plate collar. This design is the most diminutive of the Rosewood & Silver mills. It measures 3 13/16” tall by 2 7/16” wide. Made in Denmark, this peppermill has the earliest type of metal grinding mechanism made by PEUGEOT, France. This top quality grinding mechanism is made of case-hardened steel by PEUGEOT. The grinder has an authentic insignia with lion and arrow and known to be the best on the market for almost 200 years (since 1840). The durability of these mechanisms and their proven track record allows Peugeot to provide a lifetime guarantee on the grinding mechanism. The grinder is in working order and an example of the grind size can be found in pictures. This 50+ year old piece is in very good vintage condition. The pictures are accurate of condition.
