Description: Nice LW/MW radio as shown. Quite an interesting part of radio history. It was made for the CoOp at a time when major manufacturers wouldn't supply the CoOp as they felt that the CoOp's divi would equate to a breach of the resale price maintenance rules that were in force at the time and only ended in 1964. Presumably that's why the radio is called the "Defiant" and there's no model number or indication of who made it or where it was made. Takes 2 x PP9 size batteries. [Not supplied] When I put a batteries in the radio there was power getting through but it was very noisy, perhaps due to the 2 x PP9 batteries, and I didn't manage to get it tuned to a station. That coupled with the missing volume control and right hand attachment for the strap means it's offered as for spares or repair.. Measures 28.9cms x 18.7cms x 9.1cms.
