Description: This is probably the prettiest Blue Ridge plate I have ever seen! The colors are so fabulous and vibrant. It is called the "Flower Cabin" and signed by artist Ruby S. Hart. The plate is approx. 10.25" wide. There are hand painted brown/purple flowers in the grass, purple mountains, purple clouds and purple in the trees. The cabin has gray and browns and yellows. My research shows that these were produced in the 1940's by the very best decorators and I can sure tell by looking at this plate. I took pictures primarily outside where it was bright, but also a bit shady, so colors may look different on arrival. I have looked at this with a magnifying glass and I see no chips or cracks. This displays so well, but I like to be super picky in my descriptions, so here it goes. I see some manufacturing flaws on the back--paint under the glaze and kiln marks and a few long clear craze lines. On the front there is a dot of black under the glaze, a light green smudge of color under the glaze around 9 o'clock (hard to see) and a tiny little mark near the pink arrow sticker picture (next to last photo) that is just a tiny little indent dot where the paint did not cover. There are also little bumps in places in the glaze on the front--they are glazed over--you can feel them if you run your hand over the plate. I tried to picture an example of them in the last photo. These used to sell for $800 or more, but I try to price reasonably. Buyer to pay within 3 days of auction's end. Thanks for bidding! I will ship this insured--thus the extra cost of insurance included in the shipping price. I will ship the least expensive way offered below to your home.
