The outer rim and coin are frosted glass, the rest of the plate is clear glass. There is clear leaf trim around the Kennedy Half Dollar image. The size is 9 inches (22.86 cm)! The inside of the outer rim is stamped "Coin Plate - First Edition" and "1971" (with the Imperial Glass logo between the "19" and "71"). The Imperial Glass Corporation was founded in 1901, began production in 1904, and was acquired by Lenox in the early 1970s, but ceased operations in 1984!
