There are also lines or dashes to represent digraphs and these are also color-coded according to their consonant or vowel pattern. On the reverse are phoneme frames, where phonemes are grouped into boxes and color-coded accordingly. This side has a write and wipe surface, so children can practice spelling the word or identifying a phoneme (sound) within the word. The outside borders are color-coded in accordance with the phases of Rainbow Phonics. Cards also integrate with the lessons in the Teacher Planners at the different grade levels.
