Description: This Pre-WW1 1800s Italian Army M1870 Vetterli Long Rifle Steel Sword Bayonet is in good condition overall and only shows mild signs of age and service. The blade is marked on it's ricasso and was made at the Brescia Arsenal. The crossguard is marked with what appears to be a serial number. The reverse side of the ricasso is stamped with a single number "3." The blade is clean but does show evidence of age and storage, however no damage from abuse or neglect can be detected. A clean edge and point remains intact. The original composition grips are in good condition overall however a crack can be detected on the opposite side of the press stud spring. The crack is stable and does not detract from display or hamper usage. The press stud on the pommel is free and appears to function as you would expect. Please examine the photographs carefully for the best description of contents and condition.
