Description: this pickering comes with a used pc2000 jico shibatta stylus with less than 300 hours on it. general lifespan is 500 to 1000 hours. provided you do or do not clean your records b4 play, i can say we do clean our records for the advantage of fidelity. stylus weight has been set to 1.5g "plus the .75g for the brush" and has not been abused. selling due to the 681 EEE "the stanton cousin directly related" and the 881s we own, unfortunatly we cannot keep all the heads, we have run out of turntables. this cart stylus combo is crisp and clear, with the usual stanton / pickering room filling span of sound, unparalleled in separation and unique in tracking details. this is a mi cart, with a 5mV output. any normal phono input will handle the output and this cart will make them seem louder, normal outputs being 4 and lower. unlike line contacts, the shibatta on pickering retains its boomy bass notes and vibrant details on drums, wind instruments and depth. continuity is confirmed with the ohm meter, and pics show the cantilever is not bent nor damaged, a well cared for stylus and cart.
