Letter dated 27 August 1977 on Burton's stationary to autograph dealer Hamilton setting the price for a group Sean O'Casey letters. Hamilton has written (but not signed) at the bottom of the letter: "A fearfully high price, but I have succombed(sic) to the illustrated letter!" One fold as mailed, slight paper clip mark, near fine. Burton was an illustrator and children's book author. He was a schoolmaster who took the young future actor Richard Burton in hand after his mother died, and inspired him to become an actor. Although too young to legally adopt Richard (who was born Richard Jenkins). Richard became his ward and took his surname, and for all intents and purposes Philip became his step-father.
