The bottom of the mill wasn't fully cleaned after the last use, and one of the screw heads that holds a stainless ring on (to secure the grinding mechanism in place) rusted. I tried extracting the remnants of the screw to replace with a new screw but was unsuccessful. To repair this, you'd either need to drill-out the old screw remnants and insert a new screw OR drill a new hole through the stainless steel plate in a different location and emplace a new screw. Plate is currently held in place/secured with just the one screw and mill/grinding mechanism operates fine.Issue 2: When you remove the top nut (marked "S") to fill the mill, the center shaft slides down farther than it should, creating a larger-than-intended opening/gap in the grinding mechanism, which means salt crystals can spill out of the bottom. There is a metal disc on the shaft that acts as a keeper to hold the shaft in place when the top nut is removed--I've pushed this disc all the way down, but it no longer holds the shaft in place. I do not know how to take the mill apart to access and repair/replace this keeper. You can still fill the mill without addressing this keeper issue so long as you remember to set the mill on something (or do something--vise grips on top of shaft) that keeps the grinding mechanism together when the top nut is removed so that salt crystals (or whatever) don't spill out the bottom.I hate to just toss this mill in the trash so hoping somebody may have the knowledge and inclination to give repairing it a go or find a use for the parts.Please review all listing photos before bidding/buying as they are an integral part of both the item and condition description.SHIPPING: USPS Priority Flat Rate Padded Envelope for $9.00 to all USA destinations.
