Original Kammer & Reinhardt 127 Baby Molded Hair Excellent Costume Splendid Face

Description: Offering this adorable 15 1/2" Kammer & Reinhardt mold # 127 character baby with bisque head made by Simon & Halbig for K*R. This baby began production in 1909, and all manner of realistic character baby and character child dolls began to become very popular at this time. The modeling is exceptionally fine in this example and has what is referred to as having a "first-out-of-the-mold" look. One can see a dimple on his/her little chin and the full, healthy cheeks of a healthy baby. The solid dome head also exhibits deep modeling of hair and ears as well. The eyes are a bright blue glass and are set. Abundant lashes painted above and below the eyes, an open mouth with tremble tongue and two little upper porcelain teeth. The back of the head is fully marked and the baby is on the original bent-limb composition baby body. He has a particularly splendid face! The antique costume is wonderful and all antique. Undergarments consist of a heavy cotton sleeveless undershirt, a flannel petticoat ornamented with feather-stitching at the hem, and a crisp white sailor style dress made of a ribbed cotton with 3/4 sleeves and a sailor collar with a lovely blue bow that really accents the baby's deep blue eyes.
