Description: This original lithograph entitled"Going For Him"by Currier and Ives depicts a scene in a mid-American farm where a rat in a barn is being chased by a group of puppies. The item measures 13-1/4 inches in length, 10-1/4 inches in heights The lithograph was produced in 1868 and is reasonably good condition with a few minor flaws. It appears somebody at some time cut a long strip that's over the title and taped it in with Scotch tape that has yellowed. Why is unknown. The original texts under the litho graph seem to be sufficient and it reads "Entered according to act of Congress in this year A.D. 1868 by Currier and Ives in the clerk's office of the district Court of the United States for the southern district of New York" In any case that addition does not detract from the lithograph.(See photos) The frame is as found with the lithograph the glass was broken and I replaced it with some old glass. The item is perfect for collectors who appreciate the animals and farm culture and early chromolithography.
