Description: Original American Art Union engraving 1851 after a painting by R.C. Woodville 1840 (in plate). Engraved by J. Pease. Both American. Title reads "Old 76 and Young 48". Under the title reads "From the Original Picture In The Possession of the American Art Union." Under that reads also in plate "American Art Union 1851". Across the very bottom in block print reads "Entered According to Act of Congress in the Year 1853 by the American Art Union in the Clerk's Office of the District Court of the Southern District of New York". Far right under the engraver's name reads "Printed by ?". As for the condition, margins uniformly toned. Upper top perimeter tattered. Small half inch tear lower left corner. Water stains across lower margin. Image surprisingly clear--no distractions. See photos front and back. In my opinion, this would be worth restoration efforts. Total paper size 12" x 14" and 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" image size. TY60
