Description: ATH#231006 Janvier Louis-Juste Haitian (modern artist) VooDoo Art Steel Drum Cutout of a Nude Woman Round – 24” across Janvier was born in the late 1940s in Croix de Bouquets, Haiti and learned the art-form of steel silhouette art directly from the legendary originator of Haitian metals, Georges Liautaud. Lots of empty steel drums (mostly 55-gallon oil drums) sitting around the island made for inexpensive art material. This has a nice patina of rust – great Southwest look – but if you want to display it on an inside wall you can easily get this sand-blasted (bead-blasted) to a bright-steel finish. I can send it to a shop in Phoenix for you – and they can blast it for you and forward it on to you – just let me know. Janvier signed his name across the bottom – see photosInternational Buyers – Please Note: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost.
