Gibson used alot of plastic handles in the 60s and 70s made by the BRUCE Company...this is one of them.....has a great late 60's vibe! This is the perfect 1960's / 1970's style handle to restore a number of the Gibson cases, such as Les Paul, es 335, SG, L5, Super 400, 355, many more! Was also used on some Guild cases in that era.This was a popular style in the 60s and 70s on Gibson cases....heavy plastic with a ribbed back. You might find a few light handling/storage marks but it is in good condition and correct for your vintage case. Measuring from center of post to center of post is 4 and 3/8th inches.Comes with all-brass NOS “offset” hardware as was used in the 60’s and 70’s!! Thin plates can be bent a little to follow curve...offset brackets allow for correct mounting on odd case geometry!!Comes unassembled.....the offset mounting plates can be turned (reversed) a number of different ways to follow the unique curves of a form-fit guitar case or drum case. See the detailed pics of the brackets ...you can follow different types of contours by turning the brackets different directions.The handle portion is a new-old-stock black 1969 ribbed "Bruce Company" handle, MADE IN THE USA. "OFFSET" brass hardware can fit a variety of hard-to-fit contours as found on drum cases and form-fit guitar cases. Can be used on any application where you have difficult angles to work with. The plates can be bent slightly to follow a curve. This is how Gibson installed them!The handle measures 4 and 3/8ths inches from center of leg to center of leg.Durable handle with classic mounting hardware looks great on tweed, black, gray, tan.Includes 5/8ths rivets (install with normal hand tools). If you need a different size rivet you can email or call - prior to shipment - and get a different size. Instruction sheet included. Great quality, and now with two ways to install:1. Use the hardware shown by mounting the two axles through the mounting plates, then install the completed handle using the 4 rivets...or...2. Use your pre-exisiting case hardware and simply install the raw handle using the two axles. This keeps your case original. (Your original case hardware should be similar in appearance to that shown here, in order for the axles to fit correctly.
