Description: My mom was born in 1939 and claims to recall using this pencil sharpener as a kid in school. I'm not sure if that means this was in the school or maybe at my grandmothers home & she used it while doing her homework. Either way that would date this item to the 1940's or 50's. On the face it reads STANDARD & as shown there are 8 holes depending on the pencil size. I will assume you could also sharpen crayons. It is steel construction with a small wood handle. For stability it needs to be desk or wall mounted. I used it & it still works like a champ. As shown it has usual wear n tear scratches and what looks like some rust that can probably be cleaned off. Weight is 15.4oz. Dims are about 4" x 4"
