Most of Audiophile would agree the World Top cassette player - Nakamichi Dragon - has a sister in its family. That is the truly unique Nakamichi model RX-303 UDAR cassette deck.The Nakamichi RX-303 model is slightly larger, high-end appearance and looks as intimidating as the Dragon model. The RX-303 has the same technical features and sound quality but minus the great-but-unreliable automatic azimuth correction (NAAC) of Dragon.Note: Dragon automatic azimuth correction (NAAC) only works on the tape that has enough high frequency range to allow the Dragon to lock down the head azimuth while playing.The RX-303 transport features UDAR, Nakamichi's Unique uni-Directional Auto-Reverse mechanism, eliminating the azimuth error loss of conventional auto-reverse decks. Thanks to UDAR, the head and tape path are perfectly optimized and critically aligned in magnetic azimuth in both direction. It has been consider as double one-directional - auto reversed tape deck. See demo video for visual of how RX-303 flipping the tape to play reverse side.The frequency response of the RX-303 (20Hz to 20kHz) rivals that of most 3-head decks thanks to a specially designed laminated Sendust record/play head. One owner, Comes with original manual. Has not been serviced, but all buttons and functions tested and work properly. The manual will tell you how to adjust azimuth, etc and I’ll leave that up to the buyer. The cassette deck is in very good cosmetic condition but shows signs of usage such as hairline scratches, small dings, finger prints, some dust collection in recesses. Plastic cassette cover seems to be in great shape. The top of the face plate (vertically facing has some scratching (some superficial, some deeper) and a bit on the top corner of the faceplate. Forward face plate is actually pretty clean compared to similar units. See photos for details. Demonstrated on Video that it is working before shipment to buyer.
