Description: This is a vintage Nakamichi CR-3A cassette deck from the mid-90s that features all of that brand's exceptional audio circuitry. This unit is not fully functional as the primary tape drive motor seems to be inoperable or stuck. The spindles rotate by hand but when play is engaged, the tape drive fails to move while the spindle attempts to take up slack, causing the controller to automatically stop. Could need a new belt? The controller circuitry seems to be fully operational though I cannot vouch for the audio circuitry as I can't get a tape to play. Sound through the inputs properly triggers the level meters, suggesting that the audio in circuits are working, at least. The last time it was used it functioned fine. This is a one-owner device that has been used in a professional smoke-free studio in an audio rack. Perfect for someone who knows how to repair these units or is OK with having someone repair it for their own use. Ships in original box and includes user manual.
