Description: Hardy miniature Kiwi plant. Actinida Arguta. The no holds barred best backyard fruit bush there is. As a retired wholesale plant grower I have grown and sold thousands and thousands of fruit bearing vines, shrub types and trees. There is no better small fruiting plant to grow than this knock out producer of delicious miniature kiwi fruits. The small kiwi fruits on this vine are about the size of a large clear grape. The best feature is they have no fuzzy outer skin to peel. Just like grapes you just pop them in your mouth. The skin on the mini kiwi fruit tastes and has a texture no different than a grape. Inside these fruit jewels are the same green kiwi fruit as in the large kiwi fruit you buy at the store. Also they have the same blacks seeds except much smaller. I can't tell you how many times I have grabbed a colander and filled it with the ripe fruit and sat and ate them all. They fruit late in the summer to early fall. So when you see little baby kiwi plants for sale these are always less than one year old. The ones in this offer are a few months shy of 4 years old. Spring they will be 4 years old. Do you really want to wait 4 years to get these fruits into your kitchen? You plant them this fall to winter over and they will start growing again when the ground warms up in the spring. All these photos of those kiwi plants shown on that bench were taken the day I listed this offer. Photos taken 9/19/24. We have about 15 of these large plants left and right now they are in full leaf. But just know they do start turning yellow leafed and then the leaves drop off for winter. Thru out winter your kiwi plant will just be a vine with no leaves. You will see the buds fatten up around Jan. thru Feb. This plant some growers have little experience with as they say it grows 20 feet. No this is a miniature plant it grows 8- 14 feel. But I cut them back every winter to about 6 to 8 feet that way I can keep them bushy and also be able to grow them in a large pot. If you want to grow them in a pot you can get a five gallon pot size and that will be fine for a couple years, then get a bit bigger pot. They do awesome in almost any garden soil or ground, not picky. This kiwi is native to the northern mountains of China and they are hardy to minus 20! So no worry if you are like me in a state that has extreme winters. The plant or plants you receive will be one of these in the photos or the same batch and size. They will be pruned a bit. Not so much to get them in a box to ship to you but more so when they sprout out in the spring this pruning I do will make they sprout out much more bushy. Still you will receive the vines around 2 feet long and maybe 3 feet. If you like dried Kiwi oh my are these good. They shrivel up just like a very large raisin. And after I dry them in my food dryer I put them in glass jars. No kidding I still have glass jars with perfectly dried kiwi fruit over 10 years old. Whew just get to many but I open one every time needed. They can be stored anywhere out of sun... garage, cupboards, kitchens etc. So get yourself going with these almost 4 year old mini kiwi plants. You will be happy to have them. Cheers Roderick Goodkarmaco Plant Farm
