This gasket replaces the old cork gaskets used way back to 1960 and the black rubber gaskets used from late 60's to the mid 80's . If you have an original equipment metal 6 gallon, single line gas tank with bayonet style connector and sight gauge then this is the gasket you need. NOTE: WE HAD THESE MADE A TIDGE THICKER THAN THE ORIGINALS WHICH FIT PERFECTLY IN 90% OF APPLICATIONS. IF CAP IS TOO TIGHT OR TOO LOOSE THEN THE LOCKING TANGS MAY NEED TO BE LIGHTLY BENT TO FIT.
