Donahue's recent death in his late 80's brought to an end a long and happy marriage. The book contains interviews with other successful couples who have navigated the shoals of married life, including Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter, the Chesley Sullenbergers, Elton John (and other gay couplings as well), the Ray Romano's, etc.. Round semi-circular ring that appears to be on the bookplate is actually just reflection of the light off the camera lens barrel.
